Burn Out

Our time is short
But yours is supposedly endless
Only looking in
Never looking out
Blind to your own self-destruction
But you will burn out
Burn out like us
Burn out like the stars
Purposeless
An end with no end
Paradoxically
Undeniably
Unequivocally
Inevitably
You will burn out
Taking the world with you
You will burn out
A quiet, regrettable, meaningless
Whimper

To this,
I’ll take quiet satisfaction
All will be gone

Including the last line.

Atomised by Walls

Thoughts on a page
Juxtaposing emotions
Pulling at you from each end
No where to run to
No where to confide

Atomised by walls, doors, locks, and latches
The prison you can not see
A paradox of persons
Asocial but social
A cold grey lie

Reaching in to the sea of humanity
Such a difficult task
A need for communication
A fidelity medium
Between you and me

Ennui?

Empty head? A canvass for knowledge.
Bored? An opportunity to seek.

What Purpose is This Life?

Today as I looked across the water
I came to the sudden and disturbing realisation
I don't know why I'm here
What purpose is this life?
This question is hitherto unanswered

To progress, defining existence
Is what is needed to make sense of it all
No more who?
What?
When?
Or where?
But why?

The deeply chaotic reality before me is not going to reveal its answers
For it has none

Not asking 'why?' is expecting echo from silence
As the grey clouds of ignorance envelope you
It's best just to close your eyes
And ask
Why?

Where is the Key?

Plutocratic aristocracy
Simulacrum of success
Head in the clouds
High on avarice

No moral bounds
Vacuous empathy
Self aggrandisement
Drunken egoist

Obfuscate the lies
Destroy the truth
Endless machinations
Propagandised pill

A false conscience
Mass of apathy
Deluded desire
Voracious Opiate

Destroy the hero
Of you and me
Turned against the other
Despondent intemperance

"...there is no such thing as society,"

Where to from here?
How do we get out?
Where is the door to my country?
Where is the Key?
